Preparation and characterisation of cobalt and cobalt-zinc ferrites for magnetorheological materials

The aim of this study was to the structure, morphology, magnetic, and magnetorheological properties cobalt cobalt-zinc ferrite powders be used as a functional component fluids. Ferrites CoFe2O4 Co0.65Zn0.35Fe2O4 were obtained by combined hydrolysis inorganic metal salt in aqueous solutions followed thermal treatment precipitates. ferrites studied means X-ray phase analysis, scanning electron microscopy, IR spectroscopy, magnetometry. synthesised are polydispersed with size primary particles 300–400 nm coherent scattering regions 22–33 nm. They demonstrate high shear stress suspensions, which is 2.5 times higher than that nanosized particles. High-temperature annealing results significant increase specific magnetisation powders, well suspensions prepared on their basis. Doping zinc leads an rheological characteristics. materials have (~ kPa at 650 mT) can fillers for materials.
